All About Us

WhatBertieSaw was born during the first lockdown of the Covid 19 Pandemic. Whilst normal life involved a lot of travelling in cars and trains, “You must stay at home” allowed us to explore the glorious countryside of the Peak District National Park which is right on our doorstep. 

With Bertie our beloved Goldendoodle beside us we began to open our eyes to the diverse wildlife and stunning views.  We have loved living in the Peak District for over twenty years, but it took a pandemic to give us the time to slow down and fully appreciate the wonderful wildlife and begin to learn the names of birds, flowers and insects. 

Chris has always had a keen interest in photography and began sharing his shots on his Instagram account.  The photographs became so popular he decided to begin an Instagram account just for his wildlife shots and as Bertie faithfully accompanies him WhatBertieSaw was created and his following began to build up. 

We were absolutely thrilled when

 'White’s Calver' our local Supermarket and ‘The Barrel Inn’ our local pub asked if we could do some greetings cards for them to sell in their premises and that 'maybe a website would be the next step' and so here we are!
